Bloomfield Hills, Mich — Building on an award-winning tradition of conservation, PulteGroup, the nation’s largest homebuilder, is joining The Conservation Fund to protect America’s important natural landscapes. The PulteGroup Land Legacy Fund, a newly-named revolving fund that stands at $2.5 million, will preserve and protect the natural areas that Americans love.

The Conservation Fund is a nonprofit organization dedicated to environmental preservation. It partners with community, government and corporate leaders to fulfill its mission of conserving America’s natural areas and resources. With these partnerships, The Conservation Fund protects what it calls wild havens, working lands and vibrant communities across the U.S., with a goal of integrating economic and environmental objectives.

“The Conservation Fund’s philosophy is consistent with our mission to build life enriching communities, while making a positive impact on the environment,” said Richard J. Dugas, Jr., president, CEO and chairman of PulteGroup, Inc. “We are thrilled to work with with such a respected organization with a proven track record of helping its partners leave behind a better place for future generations.”

Larry Selzer, President and CEO of The Conservation Fund, lauded PulteGroup’s commitment: “This announcement reflects PulteGroup’s long-term dedication to our American quality of life. With this effort, the company ensures that people across the country have access to magnificent and protected places outdoors.”

The PulteGroup Land Legacy Fund launches with a history of conservation investment. In 2005, The Conservation Fund rolled out a revolving fund with homebuilder Centex Corporation. Applied as critical bridge financing, this capital has gone toward the protection of more than 73,000 acres, achieving dramatic results for wetlands, forests and waterways coast to coast. In 2009, Pulte Homes merged with Centex, forming the combined company PulteGroup.

Today, PulteGroup begins building a new legacy of land conservation with the PulteGroup Land Legacy Fund. The first project to receive support from the newly-named fund will be announced later this year.
