San Francisco, CA.—iPhactory today announced the availability of its iPhorest app for iPhone and iPod touch on the Apple App Store. iPhorest, http://www.iphorest.com/, is an innovative and environmentally conscious app that gives users the opportunity to raise their own virtual tree.

The virtual iPhorest tree grows after being nurtured by the user. Once the seedling has been planted, the next screen will show you the initial tree sprouted. Simply shake your iPhone to create a rain shower, and when the virtual sun shines, your tree begins to grow—reaching a new stage every day. You can plant additional trees in the forest view screen by clicking on the shovel, and even send your tree to others by pressing the share button. There is also a world map of everyone who has downloaded the app, so you can see where other fellow iPhoresters are planting from.

To commemorate the development of iPhorest, Ecolife Apparel worked directly with The Conservation Fund at this year's TED 2009 conference, to plant 2,200 trees—one for each attendee. Ecolife is an all cotton collection of underwear and casual apparel that conserves energy by reducing energy in the wash and dry cycles. The collection is overseen by Nick Graham, formerly Chief Underpants Officer of Joe Boxer.

iPhorest is available for $4.99 from Apple's App Store on iPhone and iPod touch or at www.itunes.com/appstore.

This application is not tax deductible.
